F A Q ' S

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING IN PREPARATION FOR MY TRIAL?

I ask all clients to come to their trials with makeup free, cleansed skin with a little moisturiser on - a full skin preparation will be completed at your trial appointment.
Staying Hydrated! It is super important to keep ourselves hydrated daily, so drinking plenty of water, introducing the use of hydrating under eye patches and sheet face masks are all a great way to prep and hydrate your skin. Hydration is a key step in getting the most out of your makeup and ensuring your skin is in the best possible preparation in the lead up to your trial and wedding day, plenty of water makes such a different in brightening, lifting and ensuring your skin is plump and fresh ready for your day!
It may not always be possible but if you can, please try and to come to your trial appointment in a colour and/or a top with a similar neckline to your dress as the colour will lift your complexion and reflect how it will naturally look on the day in your dress and helps give an idea of any area that may require body makeup, bronzing and highlighting i.e strapless or low neckline style. It can be helpful to bring along with you pictures of your hairstyle for the day and any jewellery you will be intending to wear so we can get a better idea of the overall look.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY TRIAL?

We will go through a consultation for you to discuss ideas and go through any inspiration you have, chat about your expectations, and/or any concerns, likes and dislikes that you may have to get a full picture of what you are hoping for from your bridal look.
Throughout the trial, I take onboard what we have discussed to create a bridal makeup look that you love! Along with any further input from you - it’s the perfect opportunity to give me as much input as possible to ensure I am translating what you have in mind, and make any alterations if needed.
Trials typically run for around 1.5-2 hours. I will also take plenty of pictures, short videos and notes to document the products I have used and any other information I may need - this then ensures your makeup look can be seamlessly recreated on your wedding day.
I always suggest to bring along with you some pictures that can give me an idea of the direction you have in mind for your makeup style - its super helpful to see visuals of the kind of vibe you are hoping to achieve and to ensure that the outcome translates from what you have in mind.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM YOU ON THE WEDDING MORNING?

I want to make your morning feel as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, so to help keep things organised I will provide you with a scheduled timeline of makeup timings for you and your bridal party that includes start and finish times a month prior to your wedding. This is a useful guide to inform your bridal party beforehand so that everyone knows where they need to be and when and help everything run smoothly from one person to the next. Wedding mornings are so exciting and can feel fast paced - I will be on hand for you and your bridal party for any touch ups, right up until the moment you leave for your ceremony to ensure you are perfect!

HOW LONG DO YOU REQUIRE FOR MAKEUP?

Below is a rough guide of the timing I work to for makeup services;

Bride Makeup: 1hr 15 mins - 1hr 30 mins

Bridal Party Makeup: 50 mins - 1hr

I recommend that all makeup is completed about 1 hour before your ceremony/when you are due to leave.
This allows a buffer of time for getting into your dress, enjoying those special moments with your bridal party, pictures and your first reveals along with any makeup touch-ups.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

I am based in Loughborough and can flexibly travel throughout Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland and all areas of the East Midlands. If required I can happily accommodate locations further away, including destination.
Please get in touch to enquire about availability (particularly in peak wedding season) I am always happy to help where I can.

DO YOU OFFER OTHER TYPES OF MAKEUP SERVICES?

Yes! I am able to provide other makeup services along with bridal... I do offer occasion bookings - wether you have a milestone event, you are a wedding guest, a special birthday or celebration I do cater for these types of events.

DO YOU NEED A DEPOSIT TO BOOK BRIDAL MAKEUP?

A non-refundable deposit is required when booking bridal makeup which is deducted from your total balance; this is to hold your date with me and covers your bride trial. Once we have completed your trial and you are happy to proceed 50% of the balance of your booking is then due within 72 hours from your trial appointment. Then the remaining balance is required 30 days prior to your wedding date.

DO YOU HAVE ANY T&C’S UPON BOOKING BRIDAL MAKEUP WITH YOU?

DO I NEED A MAKEUP TRIAL?

I do strongly recommend a makeup trial for your bridal booking. I do believe that a trial is a huge factor in a bride’s wedding plans, this is to ensure we meet before your big day and that you feel I am the perfect fit for you to make sure you feel at your best.
It is an opportunity to discuss ideas you might have, go through inspiration pictures, discuss skin types and any concerns, your personal style and style of makeup to ensure I reflect this through your wedding makeup as you need to feel like you on such a special day! I use your trial to document pictures, videos and a full product list of what we have used so that the look can be recreated seamlessly on the day. It’s also a chance for you to give feedback and test out how your makeup would wear throughout the day and if any slight changes that might want to to be added on the day i.e. lipstick shade change, a little more or less powder, a stronger of softer brow etc.
Your wedding day is one of the most special moments in your life and a wedding morning can be fast paced and a little nerve wracking, so by having your trial it is one less thing to feel any nerves towards on your special day as we have a perfected look in place ready for you and you will feel in safe hands with me on the day.

WHEN DO TRIALS TAKE PLACE?

I recommend to all of my brides that their makeup trials should take place no later than 3 months prior to their wedding day, this gives a good amount of time to meet, go through your ideas and what you are hoping to achieve and finalise a makeup look you love! Of course if you would like to book your trial in earlier than 3 months prior then that is absolutely fine too, I do also suggest to my brides it can be quite nice for them to book their trial around an occasion they may already have planned i.e an event they are going to, this helps gives the opportunity for you to get the most out of your trial and see how it wears throughout the day, under different lightening environments etc.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU TAKE FOR A BRIDAL PARTY BOOKING?

This can depend on a couple of factors; the time of your wedding, what time you need to leave, the time you can get access to your venue and/or the location of where you will be getting ready. I usually base bookings on a minimum of 3 people and maximum of between 5-6. However, please do get in touch if you have a larger party booking as we can discuss options for an assistant if required.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU CARRY IN YOUR KIT?

I carry a variety of products and brand in my kit. All of which I love and trust and that are high quality to ensure my clients are getting the best from me and my service. I have Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, Bobbi Brown, e.l.f., MAC Cosmetics, Hourglass and Armani Beauty in my kit.
